Jersey

Jersey is a three-year-old purebred A2/A2 jersey. She came to us bred to a purebred jersey bull and calved just a day after we brought our newborn son home. With our baby in tow, we went out to milk this new heifer with the intention of training her up and selling her. We just had to keep her though! She has the longest teats of any jersey we’ve come across and, though she wasn't tame when we got her, she has settled down into a well-mannered family milk cow that would be pretty hard to beat. We’re looking forward to seeing more of the calves she’ll throw and feel spoiled to get about 4.5 gallons of milk per day after just twenty minutes of hand milking twice a day.
